Reading prescription is a default age setting?
I'm curious how it assesses near prescription add, as it states its an age based add. Having been an optometrist for last 20 years I have found many people age at different rates so I'm wondering how accurate that would be if the range and working distance is not assessed.
The EyeQue delivers as promised. My prescription had changed over the past 3 years. It was different enough that I was dubious that the EyeQue was correct. I was wrong. My new glasses were crystal clear. Fn spectacular
Amazing product with fairly accurate readings
I have presbyopia (in my 50's) and some hyperopia with astigmatism, each eye being also slightly different. In my tests using this device, I got nearly identical results to my optometrist exam taken several months ago. Except that spherical on one eye was just 0.25 diopters off and the astigmatism axis differed by 5-10 degrees.
The manufacturer indicates that their accuracy in measuring refractive errors is 0.25 diopters, so my readings appear to be within that margin of error. I've also ordered prescription glasses based on these reading (for computer work) and they seem to be working quite well.
The product also allows you to measure your PD, which is a must if you need to order glasses, although I am not sure how accurate those readings are.
So, overall I find it to be an amazing product which allows me to monitor my vision and can save me extra visits to the optometrist.
The only downside is that the app does not show the results of each test and only shows you a sort of averaged result combined with previous tests. I have no idea how this averaging works and what readings are included (and for what period of time), so I would prefer also having each individual test available for my viewing and recording. Although I am not knocking off a star because of this, I find it to be a serious deficiency which should be fixed asap in their software.
Not worth it!!
After many many tests, I purchased glasses online with the result numbers and they were SO far off I could not see 10' in front of me. Went and got my eyes tested and confirmed that the Visioncheck was not even close. Save your money!
In the past 3 years, I have had my eyes tested by 4 different optometrists/ophthalmologists, and the results were all vastly different and were giving me distorted vision, prompting me to rely on 5 year old lenses that were not right but the lesser of all evils. I bought VisionCheck and used it. My results over many tests were consistent, and I might say, mush different from the "professional" exams I have had in these past few years. I ordered a pair, and while the right eye still isn't quite right, this is the best Rx I have had. Love VIsionCheck and PDCheck. Again, consistent PD results and different from the "professional" exams.
Have just received my eye glasses from misterspex company of Germany, after sending them my vision check results. I can see much better now. Thanks for creating this device. However i was unable to get the pd results for whatever reason, had to get them from an older prescription.

This product is awesome. So easy to do and accurate also. I had a prescription and eye test done at a local mall store and these results where a perfect match to the ones provided by a Optometrist. Definitely worth it. Thanks
Ultimately easy to use, results consistent
I've been unhappy with my prescriptions the last 10 years. Too tired when I took the eye tests? Unable to choose the correct "Which is better"? A visit to an opthamologist ended with "Your glasses are too strong". I was really interested in self testing at different hours of the day, so the VisionCheck seemed to be just the trick.
I've measured my eyes at different times of the day with startlingly consistent results. I really enjoy looking at the online graphs that compare the results of the different tests. Indeed, the results are almost -1 dioptrine less than my prescriptions of the last 10 years, not -6.75 or -7 but -6. The reading correction for progressive lenses looks correct, too. I've ordered a pair of glasses online and am anxious to see how well I can see with them.
I had a bit of difficulty finding both lines with the left eye, the right eye was a snap. I discarded one test but saved the others.
Well done! Several friends are anxious to pay for the cloud support and use my visioncheck.
Awesome - Finally the right prescription for my eyes,
I ordered premium progressive lenses on-line with the EyeQue prescription. Best glasses i have ever had. I could never get the right prescription for some reason from the big box eye glass centers. These are perfect because I could relax and take my time getting it just right. Worked flawlessly first time with my Samsung S9 plus Android phone.
Measurements on the money for me!
This is my 2nd review. As I stated in my 1st review I took several different measurements (more than eight) and they were all about the same. I picked the majority that had the same measurements and ordered inexpensive bifocals online . Just received the glasses and I'm amazed at the accuracy. The bad astigmatism in my left eye is corrected perfectly, which is unusual based upon other prescription glasses I've had. My left eye has always been my weak eye due to the astigmatism and is still not 20/20 but still very good. My right eye has developed as very small amount of astigmatism after many years but is 20/20 now with the glasses. I plan on having Lasik surgery soon so getting these measurements is a good information and a good starting point.
I occasionally find it hard to see both red and green bands during the test without slightly adjusting position. However, the results have been relatively consistent, and surprisingly accurate. VisionCheck even detected very mild -0.25 astigmatism in one eye that only one doctor in the past has included in my refraction. The clarity of the glasses I ordered with the VC numbers is excellent.
Too early to tell how accurate it is for me
Received the unit this week and took about 10 different measurements. The unit is easy to use. Most of the measurements were almost the same each time so I ordered a pair of cheap online glasses to determine if the unit is going to work good for me. The main problem I have is with the APP. The APP failed or lost connection a couple of times while I was in the middle of taking measurements and I couldn't figure out any way to reset the unit to start over. I had to delete the app from my iPhone and re-install it to start over. They need to add a reset function to the APP.
I have been an optician for 30 years and I wanted to test a device that could make exams easy, fun and practical for all patients. This would be helpful to diabetics, degenerations, unusually RX patients. I found it very difficult to see the target clearly, and the length of the exam caused shoulder and back pain when I was finished. I DO believe this product has great potential but I am concerned that it would be difficult for the patients who may benefit most. My RX reading was pretty darn close on the CYL/AXIS but was weak on the SPH. Needless, I am going to keep using it and do want to get a membership for my wife to try.
Line overlapping depends on the angle with which you hold the device. I've been getting different results (none of which is even close to my current perscription, tested several months ago). And what's even more strange is that each independent test receives a "Very good" or "Excellent" "Test Performance" score and still the "Test results spread" isn't good. I have several 1 month old open customer support requests which don't get any answer.
Need to fix the Bluetooth
Connecting to the eye test via the app deletes all other saved Bluetooth devices. If you have saved Bluetooth devices like headphones, car, etc you will have to re-pair them to your phone again every time you check your eyes. They will no longer automatically connect after you do the eye test. It's very inconvenient.
Nice device, accurate results
Got this on Indiegogo.... wanted to rate here.
I am an extreme hyperope with mild astigmatism. The VisionCheck was very accurate, to within 0.25D of my last prescription for both Sphere and Cyl.
Worth the money
One use so far. Very impressed
Took some getting used to the buttons, but then went fast. Takes longer with more tests than I expected. Haven't yet compared to Dr prescription. Happy with the purchase.
Vision check ....This is a very powerful device
Nailed my high myopic prescription, even got my -2 diopters of astigmatism in my left eye.
Keep on trucking Eyeque.
Not only much faster but also more accurate . I think better than my optometrist eye exam.
Very fast & more repeatable than the first PVT.
I got the first PVT in December 2017, and I liked it. I'm wearing glasses resulting from the numbers generated from that device right now.
The VisionCheck device is much faster than the PVT. It also is more repeatable, and I"m getting higher confidence values when I take the tests.
I was confused by the buttons, but I think I've figured them out. You have to tap them to get them to activate. Just pressing them doesn't seem to work.
As far as the PDCheck is concerned, I'm not as happy. I have yet to get the app to actually lock onto my pupils correctly. However, it does seem accurate if you adjust the crosses yourself with the app.
Super Fast & Accurate - But be mindful of the buttons!
I had the first PVT and the VisionCheck is much faster! But it's a completely different device with different buttons. I wanted to press down on them hard, but they're more like touch pads so I had to get used to how to tap them. The tutorial and practice helped, but it still takes some getting used to!
Faster than before
I've recently received my VisionCheck from the Indiegogo campaign and I can say that the device is much faster than the previous PVT.
